Diversity Visa 2011 Registration is Now Open

The Diversity Visa or DV-2011 registration is now open according to the US Department of State. Eligible persons of the Diversity Visa Program can now electronically submit their entries between noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT -4), Friday, October 2, 2009 until November 30, 2009, Eastern Standard Time (EST) (GMT -5), Monday as per US Department of State official website.

The Diversity Visa Program is available for persons from countries with very small number of immigrants to the US. Submission of entries is encouraged on the earliest time possible within the given dates mentioned above.

Countries with 50,000 immigrants sent during the previous five years are not eligible to apply. The list are: Canada, Brazil, Dominican Republic, China (mainland-born), Colombia, Haiti, India, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Peru, Philippines, Poland, South Korea, Jamaica, Pakistan, Mexico, United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and Vietnam. Persons born in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan are eligible. The participating eligible countries for DV-2010 are still the same.
