The US immigration allows certain individuals to obtain green cards or permanent residency status in the US even though they do not have a family or an employer that may petition them. Individuals who wish to become US permanent residents or citizens to work and live in the US is given these options: self petition of Aliens of Extraordinary Ability, individuals with Advanced Degree and individuals who were given National Interest Waivers.

This must be proven that his presence is going to impact the country in a positive and significant way. This may be that the alien can help in the improvement of country’s economy, development of jobs, advancement in the educational sector and the likes. Furthermore, an individual’s application may also be supported by letters from personalities well-known in the society or in high profile organizations.

Aliens with Extraordinary Ability are those individuals who possess exceptional talent in the arts, sciences, business or athletics. This is somewhat related to the National Interest Waivers for the same grounds that it should give to the US, which is being able to be a way to improve the welfare of its people. Proof that must accompany a person’s petition should include his academic diplomas, awards, recognitions, professional certification and licenses. He must also present evidence of compensation for such services derived from being an Alien of Extraordinary Ability. There must also be a proof that the job being applied for in the US is supported by 10 years practice in the same profession. Lastly, it is a substantial thing to provide highly regarded citations of contribution from associates, organizations and other reputable entities in the private or government sector.
