Illegal Immigrants Entering Through the Sea

As US-Mexico land borders become tighter and make use of advanced technology, the influx of illegal immigrants is still unstoppable. Many of these illegal immigrants penetrate the US by diverting into other means like using the open seas and coasts surrounding the country. A recent online article in The New York Times (published July 18, 2009) reported migrants from Mexico entering through beaches north of San Diego.
The sea is an ideal route to take for illegal migrants with its immense size, making it more difficult for coast guards to monitor illegal boats coming in day in and day out. Not withstanding the challenge, marine forces are in full alert with arrests being made of more than 100 illegal immigrants since October of last year.
Illegal immigration has said to decrease along with the downfall of the US economy but many people still risk their lives by doing all sorts of things only to get their way to the US. This goes to show that most people are not shaken with fewer available jobs in the US and other looming reports about its financial stability in the last two years or so.
