Counterfeit Items Seized by ICE

An ICE news release featured its seizure of over 17,000 counterfeit items amounting to approximately $643,000 in the Twin cities region.

Counterfeit items cause millions to billions of losses in sale and profit of legitimate businesses. The ICE has long been pursuing groups trafficking counterfeit goods and has made several successful efforts in doing so. The recent seizure includes items from signature brands like Prada, Coach, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, BMW, Marc Jacobs, Hugo Boss among many others. From these items, articles of clothing, accessories and pieces of jewelry are the ones with the most number of items seized.

According to the report, patronizing counterfeit products costs the government more than 750,000 American jobs. It adds up to the rising job-related problems the country is faced with. Aside from this, some counterfeit items are also posing risk to the general safety and health of the public.
