How does visa retrogression happen? This may be just a simple explanation why visa priority dates for December 2010 has retrogressed. Just what the Visa Bulletin for December shows, there are three categories that were significantly affected. Surely, the visa journey of any visa applicant falling into these categories will be put on hold because of this news.
First is the F2B preference or unmarried sons and daughters (over 21 years old) of green card holder. November 2010 priority date was noted to be September 1, 2002 but for December, it has moved to March 1, 2000 or retrogression of 2 years and 6 months.
Second category that retrogressed is F3 preference or married sons and daughters of US citizens. November 2010 priority date was noted to be March 1, 1996 but for December, it has moved to July 1, 1992 or retrogression of 2 years and 8 months.
